Shopping for baby and kids’ clothing is thrilling but can sometimes result in items that either don’t fit right or perhaps aren’t as adorable in person as they were online. Carter’s, one of the most prominent children’s clothing retailers, understands this.

They have a return policy that can cater to almost any case. However, all the details need to be known to make the return easy for you.

What’s Carter’s Return Policy?

Carters has a very convenient, easy-to-understand, good return policy. If a customer does not like the item purchased, the company’s return policy allows for the return of that item within 90 days after its purchase.

According to the Carter return policy, the returned item must be in its original condition, with the original receipt and tags.

If you return your product after 90 days, you will get a refund corresponding to the product’s current price.

Carter’s Return Return Time Frame

All items purchased on carters.com, polo.com, oshkosh.com, or skiphop.com can be returned within 45 days from the purchase date unless otherwise stated in our Return Guidelines.

All items must be in the original condition, unworn, and unwashed, with all original tags attached. Please note that we cannot accept returns of final sale items ending in .99 (i.e., clearance and doorbusters) and used items unless defective.

You can find return instructions on your packing slip. If you have misplaced it or you don’t have it, please ensure that your name and address, your order number (if available), and the reason for the return are included on the return.

Please allow 4-6 weeks from receipt of your return package to process your refund. After the refund has been processed, you will receive an email from us.

Does Carter Offer Full Refunds?

Any merchandise that you buy from us, if you are not satisfied, may be returned to us for the merchandise purchase price within 30 days of your date of purchase.

Shipping and handling are nonrefundable. You may return your online purchase at any Carter’s retail store.

1. Ensure your purchase is returnable.

2. Locate your nearest Carter’s on the Store Locator page.

3. Go to this location and proceed to the store representative to make your return.

4. Original sales receipt, gift receipt, or packing slip, along with the credit card used for the original purchase, must accompany the return.

Carter’s Online Return Process

1. Make sure your item qualifies for a return.

2. Go to the Store Locator page to find a Carter’s nearest to you.

3. Visit the store and talk with an employee to proceed with the return.

4. Do not forget to bring your original sales receipt, gift receipt, or packing slip and the credit card used for the original purchase.

Carter’s Online Return Process

1. Once again, check your product thoroughly to ensure it is fit for return.

2. Visit the Returns page on the website.

3. Click the “Start Return” button, and it will take you to the Order Locator page.

4. You will be asked to put in your order number, email address, and zip code to proceed.

5. You will need to prepare a return label using the interactive tool on the website.

6. Then, you need to fill out the form on the reverse side of the packing slip and attach it to the item you are returning.

7. Note that a $6 shipping cost will be deducted from your refund if you use UPS Ground by printing Carter’s prepaid return label.

8. Alternatively, you can ship the package using your own USPS, UPS, or FedEx, where you will need to bear the cost of shipping. Carter’s urges you to use delivery confirmation or tracking ID to ensure the package reaches safely.

What’s Carter’s Return Policy With Receipt

If within 90 days of purchase, with the original packing slip, sales receipt, or gift receipt, you are not satisfied with any item, it will be refunded in full.

You will receive a full refund less shipping and handling for online orders. The refund you receive will match the current selling price, after the initial 90 days, in the form of store credit.

What’s Carter’s Return Policy Without Receipt

If you have lost your receipt, you will be able to return or exchange your product in new, unworn condition. Carter’s will first look up your order using your physical address, your email address, or your “Rewarding Moments” information.

If this works, it will treat your item as a return with a receipt; however, if they can’t locate the receipt in the store system, then your other choice is a merchandise exchange at the current price.

Carter’s Exchange Policy

If you don’t like an item bought from Carter’s store, you can exchange it at any of the Carter’s stores in the U.S. If within 90 days since purchased and you’ve got its receipt available; you’ll get a full refund.

If you do not have the receipt anymore or the receipt is over 90 days old, you will only be able to exchange your item for the current selling price. A defective product can be exchanged for one.

Does Carter Accept Returns Through The Mail?

Yes, Carter’s returns items bought online, by phone, or in a store by mail. The return should be postmarked within 30 days from the date on which the order was delivered to a consumer and should be returned in original condition, unworn, and in new condition.

1. Items must be unwashed, unworn, and unaltered with all original tags attached.

2. Proof of purchase is required for all returns. If you do not have your original packing slip or order confirmation email, please include a note with your return that includes your name, address, order number, and the reason for the return.

3. If you are returning a gift, please include the name and address of the person who made the purchase.

4. Returns are processed within 10-14 business days after we receive your return. You will receive an email notification when your return has been processed.

5. Please note that refunds can only be credited to the original form of payment.

Carter’s Gift Card Policy

You can use gift cards to pay for your order. Your remaining balance is updated after each transaction. An unused gift card cannot be exchanged for cash. Gift cards can only be used in-store or online.

Each gift card has a special code that you can go and use online by simply putting in the code given in your cart at the time of checkout.

The validity period for the gift card is 6 months from the date of its purchase. If the gift card goes beyond the validity date, the remaining balance on the gift card will get canceled.

Carter’s Refund Policy

A full refund is available under the condition that the returned item must be intact and sent back within 90 days from the date of purchase.

Your credit will be refunded in the same method used for payment on the original purchase. The product can be returned for up to 90 days with a receipt.

Also, when you make a return after 90 days, it’s possible to get a refund but you’ll receive it only in the form of store credit.

When you use two of your cards to make a payment, the payment will come back to both cards. Normally, the refund process will take about 10-14 business days.

If you are not satisfied with the product you bought at a store from Carter, you can exchange it and buy another product at any store from Carter, within the U.S. Carter doesn’t accept exchange for online returns.

You can change the product you bought within 90 days from the date of the purchase. If you have a damaged or defective product then you can exchange it without any worry.

If you want to exchange the product then you must know the condition, then you visit the store to get an exchange. Carter will provide you with a refund from which customers can re-order.
