How Long Do I Have to Return an Apple Product?

Not happy with your Apple purchase? No worries! Apple lets you return most things within 14 days of getting them, as long as they’re in new condition (no scratches or dings).

This means you can even return something you opened, so long as it’s like new. However, this policy only applies to items bought directly from Apple’s store or website.

Can I Return any Apple Products?

Below are the products that you can return to apply:

1. Opened Software

According to the rules, you can’t give back software you bought from Apple. But sometimes, there are exceptions.

If you’ve put in software that has a license number on it, you can give it back, as long as you don’t open the package.

If you haven’t said yes to the rules and you don’t keep any copies of the software, you can get all your money back for digital copies.

2. iTunes Or App Store Returns

Normally, you can’t return these things because then people might treat the policy like free trials. But you can give them back within 90 days or if you bought them by mistake.

Just fill out the return form and tell Apple why you’re sending it back, and they’ll decide if you get your money back.

If you haven’t paid for all of it yet, you need to pay before sending it back. If it’s a subscription, you can ask for your money back or stop the subscription.

3. Apple Watch Return Policy

Apple Watch can be returned only if they are returned in an undamaged condition. Return window is same as of other products that is 14 days.

You can give back stuff you bought online either at the store or by mail. To return your stuff to Apple, all you need is the receipt and the stuff has to be in good condition.

You can only return things in the same country where you bought them. Here are the steps for both ways to return things smoothly.

Apple In-store Return Process

If you bought stuff in person, you can only take it back to the local store. But if you bought it online, you have both options. Just follow these simple steps:

1. Gather your purchase documents, like your receipt or invoice, and all the stuff that came with your delivery, like cords, documents, and adapters (all in their original packaging).

2. Go to the customer desk at the nearest Apple store with these documents. You can find the closest store using the Apple store locator.

3. Talk to the customer rep at the store. They’ll check the stuff for any damage.

4. Once everything’s okay, you’ll get your refund in the same way you paid originally.

Return Your Apple Items Through Mail

If you bought something from Apple and want to return it by shipping it back to the store, here’s how:

1. Log in with your Apple ID and Password to your order page.

2. Find the items you want to return from your recent orders and click on them to go to the Order Details Page.

3. Below the item details, click on ‘Start a Return’ and then click ‘Get Started’. On the next page, click ‘Initiate your Return’ after confirming what you’re returning.

4. Follow the instructions and click ‘Print Return Label’ to get your shipping labels. If you’re returning multiple things, click the button multiple times.

5. Pack up everything you got with the product and ship it to the nearest store address. You can arrange for a pickup or drop it off at the carrier’s location.

6. Once the store gets your stuff, you’ll get your refund in a few days.

What is Apple Exchange Policy?

You can swap an item you bought in the store for something else by bringing it to the nearest Apple store along with the product you want to get instead.

It’s a good idea to make sure the product you want is in the store. You can call them at 1-800-676-2775 or check online to see if it’s available for in-store pickup.

Contact the store to check if you can return customized products. If your stuff got damaged or it’s not what you ordered, you can return it by following the same steps.

Apple Holiday Return Policy

Apple knows holidays can be busy, so they give you more time to return things.

Sometimes, they announce a longer return period. For instance, if you bought something from Apple’s Online Store between November 15, 2020, and December 25, 2020, you could return it by January 8, 2021.
